How Much Does it Cost?

I feel like the prices of peripherals are getting incredibly affordable recently, at least in terms of the level of hardware you get for your investment. The AOC AGON AGM600 is launching at just £39.99, which is a very reasonable price for a mouse with this level of features. You can get a lot of mice for around this price on Amazon, and they’re mostly no-name trash or well-known brands with outdated models.

Overview

AOC is one of the biggest names in the PC business, having a truly staggering range of monitors that are suitable for everything from a humble home office to a multi-million dollar eSports tournament. Admittedly, their peripherals are much more affordable than their top-end monitors, but since they’re pretty new to this part of the market, it makes sense they’re not starting with crazy-expensive high-end stuff.

Competition

However, while not in the same league as the top stuff from Logitech, Corsair, Razer and a few others, this is still a serious contender. At this price range, it’s exceptional value for money that can put up a fight against any big-name gaming mouse for around £40-60. The components are all decent, and it adds up to great overall performance.

Hardware

The mouse is equipped with a Pixart PMW3389 sensor that can deliver up to 16,000 DPI tracking, and while I find that a bit on the fast side, the mouse feels smooth and accurate throughout the range. I just set mine to about half that and left it alone. However, since the mouse is programmable, I was able to change the DPI switches into macro keys that better suited my needs. Having a few extra buttons gives it a solid advantage for both practicality in the office, and even more so for gaming; especially that sniper button.

Build Quality

The switches are Kailh, an uncommon choice in the mouse market that often uses Omron, but they feel great, and sound nice too, which I think is just as important. Beyond that, the material choices are excellent, as it feels robust and built to a good standard, and comes with a nice quality braided cable. The mouse is a little heavy, but it is well-balanced, easy to lift, and glides beautifully too.

Should I Buy One?

The AOC AGON AGM600 is a great-looking gaming mouse, delivering big on features, while keeping a surprisingly low price that is pretty much impossible to beat when looking at other big-name brands. It’s a fantastic gaming mouse thanks to Nvidia Reflex support, a good quality sensor, and responsive switches.
