AOC CQ27G2S 165Hz Gaming Monitor Review

Getting a great gaming monitor is relatively easy, so long as you’re not concerned about things like budget! Throw enough money at the problem, and you’re sure to find something pretty awesome. The cost of a monitor goes up as you increase certain aspects, such as the panel size, resolution, and refresh rate. However, with all that in mind, AOC has managed to deliver a 27″ panel, which is a good size for gaming, with a 2560×1440 resolution, which is perfect for this screen size and a nice upgrade from FullHD, and a fast refresh rate of 165Hz, which is going to make fast-moving action look super-smooth. However, what’s exciting is that they’ve done all this for around £200.

The monitor uses one of their common designs combined with a QHD VA panel featuring a 4ms response time, however, that can be lowered to 1ms using the MPRT mode at the cost of peak brightness. While that’s not up to the flagship standards wanted by eSports pros, for those wanting to be more competitive while not spending a small fortune, it seems like a comfortable middle ground for at-home PC and console gamers.
