AOC Expands Mainstream Gaming Lineup With Three Monitors
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
AOC is adding more monitors to their mainstream gaming lineup as part of their G90 series. This includes two 24.5-inch models and a large 26-inch model.
The two 24.5-inch AOC G2590VXQ and AOC G2590PX feature a 16:9 frameless full-HD twisted-nematic (TN) panel. Since it is for gaming, it boasts a 1ms response time which minimizes ghosting as much as possible.
The two differ in refresh rates however, with the G2590VXQ having a 75Hz refresh rate, while the G2590PX is capable of 144Hz. The latter monitor also features AMD FreeSync, which reduces stuttering, tearing and input lag for an even smoother gaming experience.
The larger 27-inch model also uses a TN panel with a similar frameless full-HD display. It is similar to the G2590PX with its 144Hz refresh rate as well.
AOC Features
All three monitors have AOC-specific features such as Low Input Lag mode and Shadow Control. Low Input Lag Mode gives gamers an edge as it minimizes input lag while playing. Input lag is often introduced through video and display processing, so this feature bypasses that.
The Shadow Control feature on the other hand, lightens the overly dark screen areas and does the opposite for bright parts. This results in a more even view which is essential for gamers. You won’t miss your shot if you know where your target is in the map. Of course, users can always disable or simply not use these features if they don’t need.
