A Closer Look
Like a large number of monitors, AOC’s gaming panel does require a small amount of ‘putting together’ which in this case is as simple as screwing the base plate on to the arm with a single thumbscrew.
Looking at the back of the screen, the panel slides up and down the arm via an internal rail, leaving the outer part of the arm at a fixed height. The plastic cable tidy that came as part of the accessory pack simply clips on to the stand and can be slid up or down as per user preference.
On the underside of the screen we find the first of the four USB2.0 ports that are available with the USB-B input for connection to a PC to the left. To the right there is a power switch and IEC power input.
One of the great things with the G2460PQU is the wide array if inputs that are on offer. On top of the standard VGA, DVI and HDMI, AOC have also included a DisplayPort. For many users this is regarded as the favoured input for optimum colour reproduction and image quality whilst also supporting audio throughput. For DVI and VGA inputs, a 3.5mm port is included as well as 3.5mm out.
As with all things, style is paramount and in the case of the G2460PQU, it needs to be non-intrusive whilst gaming. The bezel of the G2460PQU has a light brushed metal effect finish to it, which not only adds style, it also removes any reflections from around the edge of the matte finish panel that some bezels can create.
On the underside of the panel to the right are a series of buttons for changing the display input as well as navigation through the OSD and putting the display into standby.
As well as the two USB2.0 ports on the rear I/O, there are an additional two USB ports to the right hand side of the screen. As seen below the upper port is coloured red as this has a fast-charge facility for mobile devices whilst still operating as a standard USB port for data connections.
The monitor sits on a simple round plastic base which simply attaches to the arm via a single thumb screw on the underside.
