Monitor manufacturer AOC has partnered up with famed design house studio F.A. Porsche to bring a pair of new displays. These are the PDS241 and PDS271 monitors which is the company’s most elegant looking products yet. AOC usually caters to the gaming crowd with very angular designs, but the PDS241 and PDS271 are contemporary and minimal.
As you might have gathered from the name, one is a 24-inch model while the other uses a 27-inch panel. Both utilize an AH-IPS panel with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. The AH-IPS panel is ideal for its wide viewing angle at 178 degrees. They are also capable of 100% sRGB and 90% NTSC colour gamut coverage and has 4ms GtG response times.
Perhaps as a testament to Studio F.A. Porsche’s eye for detail, even the power supply is enclosed in sleek aluminum. This is also integrated into the aluminum stand, which snakes up behind the monitor. In terms of function, the extremely thin bezel should please many users.
These monitors were originally scheduled for a June launch but have been delayed for a month. They are now available with the 24-inch PDS241 carrying a $240 price tag. The 27-inch PDS271 on the other hand costs a bit more at $330.
