This is such a fun little monitor to use, and at 165 Hz and with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, the clarity of motion and overall detail is really fantastic. The pixel density is an impressive 123.4 per inch, so it looks pretty much as detailed as a 32″ 4K monitor would!
The contrast is really good too, colours pop with great vibrancy and highlights, while the blacks are nice and dark thanks to the IPS panel.
Motion handling is awesome, it’s very smooth, and while your mileage may vary, the boost modes work well too. The mid-setting tightens up the pixel response time, with no serious overshooting or ghosting issues.
It’s certainly well suited to competitive games though, small, fast and capable, it’s going to be great for CS:GO, Valorant, and similarly fast-paced action games.
For single-player games, I do like a larger screen, but honestly, with many of the smaller gaming monitors being limited to Full HD, the upgrade to 1440 really makes this monitor easy to see fine details on, despite the smaller size.
Still, for a gamer, and for a bit of YouTube consumption, it’s a great display. For movies, or a lot of work, I’d want something larger and would be happy with a lower refresh rate, but hey, what’s best for your needs, I can’t say!
