AOC Reveals AGON AG251FZ 25-Inch 240Hz FreeSync Monitor

AOC is one of the leading monitor manufacturers and produces a huge range of products sporting different aspect ratios and display technologies. The company’s latest creation is the AGON AG251F, a 25-inch 1920×1080 FreeSync monitor sporting a mammoth 240Hz refresh rate. As expected, the display opts for a TN panel with a 1ms G2G response time. While the viewing angles might be limited, TN is required to offer such a quick response time. On another note, the panel outputs 16.7 million colours and has a brightness rating of 400cd/m2. The viewing angles are 170/160 degrees while the static contrast ratio has been defined as 1000:1. Connectivity-wise, the product has an HDMI 2.0 port, DisplayPort 1.2a, DVI-D and D-Sub. Although, you’ll want to be using the connectors which support FreeSync.
The AGON AG251F supports 130mm height adjustment thanks to the ‘Ergo Dial’ ergonomic stand. Additionally, the monitor has -3.5-21 degrees tilt functionality, -10-20 degrees swivel, and pivot adjustments. Of course, the monitor has an integrated VESA mount just in case you want to attach it directly to a wall. Interestingly, the monitor contains a carrying handle which might be useful if you want to take it to a LAN party or a friend’s house. Personally, I wouldn’t advise this given the monitor’s value. Speaking of value, AOC has set a retail price of £449 and expects the product to launch in January. This is a lot of money for a 1080P screen, but the refresh rate will be an attractive selling point for professional gamers.
