As more and more companies are launching their own 4K monitors, these very impressive devices are becoming more and more affordable. AOC has recently unveiled its latest 4K monitor, namely its U2870VQE model, which is expected to boast a relatively cheap price tag of $400. The product measures 28 inches and offers 4K Ultra HD native resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) at a refresh rate of 60 Hz. However, it sacrifices on mobility and viewing angles as it comes with a simple stand that supports tilting only, while its panel is TN.
Even though the panel is actually 8-bit, the monitor can display 10-bit signals thanks to a technique called Frame Rate Control or Temporal Dithering. The product flaunts a 70,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a static contrast ratio of 1000:1. The viewing angles are 160 degrees vertical and 170 degrees horizontal while the maximum brightness is set at 300 cd/m2. When it comes to display inputs, AOC’s U2870VQE includes HDMI 1.4 with MHL support as well as DisplayPort 1.2 and mini-DisplayPort 1.2. No built-in speakers, USB ports or audio outputs are offered. If you’re looking to buy this monitor, you might want to know that it is currently being offered for just $349 on Microcenter. That’s a good price for 4K, no doubt about it!
