Aorus 17H i7-13700H & RTX 4080 Gaming Laptop Review

Battery Life

To test the battery life, the power plan was left at the default Gigabyte Balanced profile, as that’s really what most people will use most of the time. The system was charged to 100%, and an endless loop of F1 2022 on the Bahrain track (basically default benchmark settings just looped), but with maxed out graphics, unlocked refresh rate, DLSS 3 turned on, and brightness at max as that’s how I would game on it myself. Amazingly, it managed 1 hour and 20 minutes of flat-out gaming. Not bad, but obviously dropping settings to something much more sensible would push that over 2 hours with relative ease. Interestingly, the game was pinned to 360 Hz on the power cable, and dropped to a more modest 165 Hz on the battery, just to give you some idea of the energy-saving features already in action on the system. Set the power plan to max and you’ll be out of juice in about 45 minutes without a power cable.

Of course, if you’re just using it to watch YouTube, reddit, and writing a document, you can expect more like 7 hours, which is plenty!
