Final Thoughts

Price

Retail stock of the Aorus M3 Optical Gaming Mouse seems pretty light in the UK at the moment, so we recommend you check with your local retailer of choice for stock and up to date pricing. I found a few smaller online retailers listing it for around £40, which is pretty reasonable.

Overview

The Aorus M3 isn’t exactly reinventing the wheel in terms of design, features, or even performance. However, it’s still ticking all the right boxes for what most modern gamers need, and for those on the market for a reasonably priced and nicely performing gaming mouse, it’s worthy of your consideration.

Performance

It comes equipped with a good quality 6400 DPI optical sensor, which can be adjusted in 50 DPI increments, and even pushed to 12,000 DPI thanks to its overdrive capabilities. For around £40, that’s about what you can expect from any of the major brands, and the M3 is competitive enough to go toe-to-toe with its rivals.

Added Value

Of course, it does pack a few nice bonus features, which I’ll admit are commonplace in the market, but still nice things to have. There are high-quality Omron switches, which are well known and trusted by gamers. You’ll also find 16.8M colour RGB LED lighting, on-the-fly DPI adjustments, multiple profiles, fully programmable buttons, and some nicely designed desktop software.

Should I Buy One

There are a lot of mice in this price range offering similar specifications. Of course, if you’re already rocking Aorus hardware, there’s added appeal to have everything matched. Matching the hardware also means you can control everything from the Gigabyte software too, including their RGB syncronising feature. The performance is on par with anything else in this price range. If you like the aesthetics, I say go for it!

Pros

  • Durable build quality
  • Fully programmable buttons
  • Easy to use software
  • Macro engine
  • Rubber grip sides
  • Competitive performance
  • Reasonable price

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • Not great for palm rest grip if you have larger hands
