The RTX 3070 is no slouch, and it’s good to see the score around 28500 as that’s pretty much what we saw from other RTX 3070’s when those GPUs launched, albeit we tested with a faster CPU in those tests.
It’s the same for TimeSpy, with the scores very close to what we saw in the GPU review. Not bad for a more compact system like this with its unique cooling system.
Unigine was very interesting, as one thing I noticed was the low noise levels. Gigabyte says it stays under 40dBa, and they weren’t wrong. However, with the GPU only hitting 64c, this thing runs seriously cool! I don’t doubt you could match the desktop GPU performance with a mild overclock at the cost of a little more noise if you really wanted to.
I actually reviewed the Intel Core i7-12700K a year ago, with a lovely high-end Noctua cooler on top of it too. On my test bench, it scores a very impressive 22572 but in the Aorus Model S? It smashed that score, hitting 23018! Very impressive indeed.
The AORUS Model S comes with two M.2 SSDs pre-installed, as you can see, the primary drive is the fastest of the two, but the second drive is no slouch either.
