Well, this is an annoyance right now, as I just can’t find proper stock of this GPU. I’m sure this will change in the coming weeks though. Right now, it’s on eBuyer, but they have the price jacked at £949. That’s ridiculous, it’s almost £200 more than most other RTX 2080 cards. We’ll revisit this once we get an update from AORUS.
I’m floored by the performance of this card, it’s an incredible bit of kit that’s sure to get the attention of many PC gamers. Right now, the only downside is availability, but as far as I’m aware, I have the exclusive on this review and expect the GPU is still pretty much rolling out to the wider market. If the price is right, it’s going to be a big hit. Even more, if it does come with a price premium over other RTX 2080 cards, it’s justified given the performance on offer.
Without a doubt, this is the fastest RTX 2080 graphics card we’ve tested, and very likely the fastest on the market at all. It delivered the fastest frame rates of any card in its class. Of course, the only thing faster is the RTX 2080 Ti cards, and they’re quite a lot more expensive overall. With that in mind, this is no doubt going to be the high-performance GPU of choice from the RTX range from AORUS or any other brand for that matter.
AORUS has gone all out on this card. The performance of the hardware is fantastic. However, the cooler is simply phenomenal and plays a big part in those performance figures. Temperatures were a little higher, but with the biggest overclock, that’s to be expected. However, those three 100mm fans run incredibly quiet and do a superb job of cooling the hardware. Furthermore, the inclusion of a full backplate and anti-sag brace kit, all help sweeten the deal.
I can’t recommend this card enough, however, the price will be the deciding factor for many. Any RTX 2080 will deliver pretty impressive performance. However, if you want faster performance, great overclocking, a quiet cooler, and some of the most interesting RGB lighting we’ve ever seen on the GPU? Then AORUS is the way to go.
