Computex 2024:

Apacer is a big name for high-performance memory and storage, so while it’s not that surprising to see both of these things at Computex 2024, it’s always a pleasure to see what new products they’ve got coming to market this year and beyond! Portable storage is big business, and we use a lot of it in the office for our camera equipment, the new SSD AH7AO comes with the 1st single-chip USB4 Gen3 x2 architecture, allowing for an incredible 40Gb/s of bandwidth, and capacities of 1TB, 2TB and 4TB.

Having your external SSD dangle next to your laptop or phone can be a pain. Simple solutions are always the most successful, so why is this the first time I’ve seen a magnetic mounting drive! It’s MagSafe, works with iPhone 15 Pro, and supports 20 Gbps transfer speeds.

I quite like this flat flexible cable too, it doesn’t get in the way.

Next up, we have the AS724 USB 3.2 Gen2 USB-C drive, and the AS723 USB 3.2 Gen2 x2, which are designed to be more drop resistant and durable, making them well suited to those who need to travel with their storage.

For internal storage, there’s the new AS2280Q4X M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4, which can deliver read speeds of up to 5000 MB/s and write speeds of 4400 MB/s, obviously not their fastest drive, but it’s going to be very competitively priced, giving it mass market appeal for storage upgrades.

Plus, it’s a single sided design, giving it excellent compatibility with a lot of slimmer systems.

For cameras and mobile storage, there’s the new MicroSDXC UHS-I U3 V30 A2 1TB and 2TB cards, as well as the larger SDXC UHS-II U3 V90, which is best suited for up high-resolution and high frame rate recording, with 290/260 MB/s read and write, and up to 512 GB capacities.

Their greener solution AH270 USB 3.2 Gen1 drive features USB Type-C connectivity, comes in 64, 128 and 256GB capacities, and uses at least 30% PCR materials.

However, this one is unlike the others, as it’s an external SSD enclosure, which features a bamboo top and uses the heat produced as an essential oil diffuser. This is fantastic for your little office space, as you can drop some oil on the top.

It uses recycled woods too, so it’s a green product, but also makes your workspace a little more pleasant, while also having the practical storage applications.

For memory, there’s the new Apacer NOX RGB DDR5, which comes in the dark, light and SE variants. These are built for extreme overclocking with speeds of over 8000 MT/s, XMP 3.0 and Expo certification, and of course, they look stunning too.

There’s plenty of ARGB lighting built-in, and they do look utterly gorgeous in these demo systems they have on display.

For high-end gaming and workstation users, there’s the new active cooled AS2280F4U Gen4 x4 SSDs, delivering flagship speeds of 14000 MB/s read and 12000 MB/s write, making them some of the fastest drives on the market right now.

Obviously, these will be quite expensive, but no more so than similarly equipped rival offerings.

The Panther series of DDR5 memory has also been given an overhaul, with a newly designed aluminium alloy heat sink, improved RGB lighting, and binned ICs to ensure the best performance.

It’s available both with RGB and without to suit your needs.

Their flagship ZADAK memory features their most premium components, design and construction, with dynamic ARGB lighting, a more stable and efficient PMIC, on-die ECC, and XMP 3.0 and Expo certification.
