Apacer Panther Rage Illumination 16 GB 3000MHz DDR4 Memory Review

Final Thoughts
Price
The stock of any DDR4 memory is very limited at the moment and has been for some time. This is also reflected by high prices, due to market demand and production rates. I couldn’t find UK stock, but in the US, you can get a single 8GB module for $102.67 at Newegg. Obviously, that’s little over $200 for the 16GB kit. If you can find stock in the UK, expect to pay around £180-200, but check with your local retailers for availability and accurate prices, I’m honestly guessing.
Overview
While the stock is limited, if you can find the Panther Rage, you’re going to be very happy with it. Right now, it’s still one of the more competitively priced kits on the market, and that’s backed up by the superb performance in all tests. If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck, this is where you’ll find it.
Apacer has a long history of high-performance memory kits, and that’s easy to see from our tests of the Apacer Panther Rage 3000 MHz kit. While it’s not the fastest rated kit we’ve tested, it still managed to beat out many big names in a range of benchmarks, and that’s something for Apacer to be proud of.
Aesthetics
There are so many brands just leaping head first into making everything RGB right now, and that’s fine, it’s proving popular and making them money. Apacer has done something a little different with this kit, decorating it was a fantastic mirror finish panther on a matte black heat spreader. It’s certainly unique, and the tooth design on the top is both sleek and aggressive. Match that with the black PCB, and some white LED lighting, and you’re onto a winner, even more so if you’re building a monochrome themed system.
Should I Buy It
Stock is tight, but changes constantly, so keep a sharp eye out for the Panther. It’s one of the best performing memory kits we’ve ever tested, one of the best looking, and where there is stock, it’s often one of the best priced too. It’s well worth doing your online detective work to find some if you’re ready to upgrade your system, or even building a new one.
