Apparently Skull and Bones Will Release On February 16th

With last night’s game awards came many great and exciting announcements for lots of upcoming games like the teaser for Hideo Kojima’s new game, Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga and many others but one you might not have heard about partly because you don’t believe it, but Ubisoft gave a release date for Skull and Bones.
Skull and Bones
If you have been living under a rock for the past few years, and don’t know that Skull and Bones is Ubisoft’s way of trying to capitalise on the popularity of Sea of Thieves, and people’s love of pirates in general (as a theme). However, they’re just a little late to the party. When I say that there a little late, I mean that the ship has sailed and circumnavigated the world twice and is now sitting back relaxed in port as the most popular pirate game remains uncontested.
Apparently, Skull and Bones will let you rise from nothing to the most feared pirate on all the seas, participate in exciting naval battles, and create surprising alliances to dominate the seas. The game’s latest release date has it set to release on February 16th 2024, which would mean that the game will have taken about 7 years of development and development costs continue to spiral way over $120 Million.
Credit where credit is due though, as we have to commend Ubisoft for still making the game that I don’t think anyone asked for or wanted, and that I’m 99.99,% sure will be a massive flop if and when they ever really get around to releasing it. I suspect it’ll become the internet’s punching bag for about a week or two when it does.
Of course, I hope not because I would love another pirate game to come out given the boring mess Sea of Thieves has become, but I have my doubts that Ubisoft has gotten this one right.
