Modder Inserts Voice Dialogues from 1996 into Resident Evil Remake

What we now know simply as Resident Evil is actually a remake of an original game of the same name, which was developed back in 1996. Capcom released the game in 2002 as a GameCube exclusive, but the company eventually ported the remake to other popular consoles such as the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The remake proved to be a success and managed to breathe new life into the original Resident Evil, but it did not include any of the old game’s voice acting. Fortunately for those of you who are looking for a bit of nostalgia, we were recently informed that a Resident Evil modder named “Bunny” has created a special mod that swaps the voices within Resident Evil Remake with the original ones from 1996.

As you can probably imagine, creating such a mod was nothing if not complicated, as Bunny claimed that he had to edit more than 500 audio files in order to complete the project.

“The dialogues were already mixed with sound effects like footsteps, gunshots, enemies, etc. So at some point the editing process became tedious and I had to take breaks more often.”

Have a look at the following video if you want to see the mod in action. Also, you can download Bunny’s work right here and enjoy it yourself.
