Apple has revealed its new 15-inch MacBook Air powered by the incredible and efficient performance of M2 allowing the MacBook to maintain a fanless design and long battery life.
The 15-Inch MacBook Air features a spacious and high-resolution 15.3-inch liquid retina display with up to 500 nits brightness and support for 1 billion colours. This display enables content to look rich and vibrant and text crystal clear. The MacBook is also the world’s thinnest 15-inch laptop measuring only 11.5mm thin mostly down to its low cooling requirements, plus at 3.3 pounds (1.5kg) it is incredibly portable. Its thin size has compromised connectivity of course with the MacBook Air featuring MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt ports for connecting external accessories and an up to 6K display and unlike Apple phones, a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The M2 chip included in this MacBook is claimed to be up to 12x faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air and up to twice as fast as the best-selling 15-inch laptop with a Core i7 processor. This chip features a powerful 8-core CPU as well as a 10-core GPU plus supports up to 24GB of memory. Thanks to its efficiency, the M2 chip enables the laptop to maintain a battery of up to 18 hours which is one of the only things Apple is getting right nowadays.
Included with the MacBook Air is a 1080p FaceTime HD camera perfect for FaceTime calls and video conferencing. Thanks to the advanced image signal processor on M2, users will look great on video calls. Further aiding your calls is the three-mix array which captures clean audio using advanced beamforming algorithms allowing users to come through loud and clear on video calls. Hearing the other people on a video call is great as well with the new six-speaker sound system with two tweeters and two sets of force-cancelling woofers. These new speakers deliver twice the bass depth for fuller sound and spatial audio with support for Dolby Atmos providing an immersive experience when listening to music or watching movies.
