It’s barely been a day since we saw the specifications for the new iPad Air 2 leak online and today it’s time for the pictures. A Korean technology blog got their hands on these early images that supposedly pictures the new iPad Air 2. The photos shown here are from a model handed out to manufacturers to design their covers and accessories upon, and as such the final version might differ from these photos. But they do fit with what we’ve already heard rumoured about the device.
The home button has been improved with the TouchID sensor for fingerprint authorization, Apple Pay and the Mute button is gone now. This is Apples, and the worlds, thinnest tablet yet measuring just 7 mm, just in case the 7.5 mm thickness of the old iPad Air was too much for you. That’s about the same thickness as the two new iPhone 6 models have, they are 6.9 and 7.1 mm thick. The edge seems a bit more curved than the predecessor, but otherwise it looks like an iPad.
If these pictures are genuine or not, if they are from the final product or an early version; that is up to you to decide. We’ll have to wait another week to get the confirmation when Apple holds their next event that is said to take place on October 16. For now we can enjoy these pictures and fantasize about how the final product will look and feel.
It will also be interesting to see if Apple brings the rumoured gold colour to the iPad, it has been popular for the iPhone and been a big request from many users who like to unify their iDevice look.
