Apple Might Discontinue the iPhone X This Summer Due to Low Demand

The iPhone X might be in trouble.

Apple’s iPhone X has plenty of features to brag about. Apart from the completely new design, the device also boasts an AMOLED display, as well as stereo speakers. Then there’s the new hexa-core CPU, as well as the impressive camera. So why would this particular model be discontinued so soon after its release? Well, according to KGI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, low demand is the culprit. We’re talking specifically about the Chinese market, where the iPhone X has enjoyed a rather lukewarm reception. It appears that Chinese consumers prefer smartphones with particularly large screens. The notorious notch present at the top of the iPhone X is probably taking up too much screen space in their opinion. To be fair, plenty of users have reported that they don’t even notice it anymore.

Upcoming devices.

The future does seem promising, though. Reports indicate that Apple could launch three new phones this fall. However, instead of dropping the price for the iPhone X, the company might cancel it altogether. The iPhone 8 could suffer the same fate, mind you. Overall, Apple shows promising growth, as it will end 2018 with a growth rate of 10 percent for the entire year. The upcoming phones will probably have larger screens, which might appeal to the Chinese even more.
