There have been many sources speculating over the last few months that in terms of sales and revenue, Apple might be having a bit of a poor year. With it being revealed that iPhone sales have stagnated somewhat on the year-by-year figures, there have also been instances of small, but considerate, share price drops for the company.
In a report via The Verge though, it seems that Apple is set to do a Microsoft/Blizzard. How so? Well, apparently they are no longer going to reveal the specific sale levels for their technology products.
Over the last few years, we’ve seen both Microsoft and Blizzard cease releasing specific information about their products. For example, Microsoft no longer releases sales figures for the Xbox One console. Similarly, for several years now, Blizzard has not given specific player subscription levels for World of Warcraft. Put simply, it’s usually a sign that the company isn’t doing as well in a specific area that they would like.
Very likely not. There has, however, been more than a few criticisms of the company for failing to be innovative any more. In fairness, what’s the last Apple product you can think of that was truly a game changer? Chances are you’ll struggle or at least have to think on it for a minute or two.
With sales remaining at the same level though, rather than decline, stagnation might be the more accurate term.
