Apple Launches ‘Planet of the Apps’ Reality TV Show

Apple continues to dominate the global smartphone market, but recently turned their sights towards producing original television shows. The first is a reality TV series called ‘Planet of the Apps’, which will follow several app developers.
The show is produced by Jessica Alba, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Gwyneth Paltrow, who will also appear in the series. The show has a 10-episode run for their initial season. It will premiere on Tuesday night 9PM Pacific Time on Apple Music.
Aside from the three producers, who will serve as advisers and judges, musician Will.I.Am. will also be in it. The production quality is similar to other Face-Off reality shows such as Hell’s Kitchen. It also has a Shark Tank or Dragon’s Den feel to it, with the judges being pitched to.
At the beginning of the episode, developers have 60 seconds to pitch their idea to the advisers who will either approve or turn down the concept. On any other show, this pitch would be just them standing in front of the judges, but in this show they are in a moving, descending platform for the 60 second duration.
It looks even stupider than it sounds that it could have been an idea from any of the four sitting advisers. Watch the trailer below to see for yourself.
