AllThingsD reports that Apple will host a large press event on October 22nd. They have previously predicted the launch date of the most recent iPhone, based on their sources, and their sources tell them that a new event is coming this month. Naturally speculation suggests we will see new iPads as we are on schedule to see new iPads but the possibility is also open to seeing the launch of something else. That said AllThingsD still thinks the event will be for the launch of a new iPad, not anything else.
The Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco are cited as the two most likely places where the event will be held. It is worth noting the event also coincides with Nokia’s Innovation Reinvented Showcase and the retail début of Microsoft’s new Surface 2 in the USA.
