Engadget reports that Apple have unveiled an updated version of the iPad Mini with a retina display. The iPad Mini Retina features a 2048 x 1536 resolution display which can only be described as a huge upgrade from the 1024 x 768 resolution display on the first generation iPad Mini. The iPad Mini Retina keeps the same 7.9 inch size panel but beefs up the hardware with a 64 bit A7 processor promising up to 4X the performance of the iPad Mini. Apple say users can expect the same 10 hours of battery life, a 5MP iSight camera, a new front facing FaceTime HD Camera, MIMO support and a choice of Space Grey or Black colours.
There’s no cited launch date for the iPad Mini Retina but the device will launch in November starting at $399 for tyhe 16GB model.
