Looks like Apple has had a good year, with the company making over $10 billion in sales from their App Store. In an announcement released on Tuesday Apple said that over 3 billion apps were downloaded over december to the tune of nearly $1 billion dollars made over the december period alone. It’s not just Apple cashing in either with developers raking in over $15 million collectively.
Eddy Cue Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services released this statement;
“We’d like to thank our customers for making 2013 the best year ever for the App Store. The lineup of apps for the holiday season was astonishing, and we look forward to see what developers can create in 2014.”
It looks like the success of 2013 can be credited to iOS7, with a range of new features that became available with its release it gave developers a great chance to re-design apps and take advantage of all new features and interfaces that came with iOS7. We can’t wait to see what exciting new apps will pop up on the App Store this year, with all ready over 1 million apps available on the App Store there is plenty to choose from and many more to come.
