Apple’s iPhone 8 Will Likely Have an Edge-To-Edge OLED Display

We already knew that Apple will likely use OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone 8, and it now looks like the rumors have been true. Bloomberg and its sources indicate that the next generation of iPhones will indeed feature an edge-to-edge OLED display, which would definitely help as far as battery life is concerned, not to mention that these screens offer richer colors when compared to other offerings. Apple will reportedly offer a lower-end iPhone 8 with an LCD screen, while the OLED variant will represent a premium offering. The OLED screens in question will probably be larger than 5 inches, which seems to be the norm nowadays anyway.

Screens aside, the same sources point out that the iPhone 8 will be encased in a single piece of glass. This can be both a good thing and a bad thing depending on who you ask, but the important part to remember is that the home button at the front will not be a physical one but a virtual one placed under the glass. The iPhone 8 will be released as part of Apple’s 10th anniversary, and its edge-to-edge design and new display have a good chance to improve the company’s smartphone sales.

Are you looking forward to the iPhone 8?
