Even though Apple’s iOS 9 is touted to be the most secure and advanced operating system for the iPhone to date, a well-known hacker has managed to jailbreak it before its official release. To be fair, the hacker in question is iH8snow, who’s widely known for his iOS jailbreaking skills. He has released a new YouTube video in which he presents the very first untethered jailbreak for iOS 9. For those of you who are not familiar with the term, an untethered jailbreak does not require the iPad or iPhone to be plugged into a PC or a Mac when it is booted, which makes things considerably more convenient for the user.
This “proper jailbreak” has been described as “dirty and hacky” by its creator, who also stated that it will work perfectly fine on the iOS 9.1 beta. However, if you were planning on getting your hands on it, you’re out of luck for now, as iH8snow does not plan to release the software to the public. Still, the video is proof that an untethered jailbreak for the new OS could be developed at any time, which means that other people might create their own versions of the software and release it eventually.
