World renowned professional overclocker HiCookie & his team S.Dougal and John Lam collectively known as ‘The Killers’, last week attended the AMD Extreme OC show in Taiwan to demonstrate the overclocking capability of the Trinity and Vishera platforms.
Whilst at the show, the team broke not one, but two world records, though the use of both platforms. With the new AMD’s latest FM2 based 5800k, a speed of 7.86GHz was acheived, taking the chip to well over twice its stock clock on Gigabyte’s F2A85X-UP4 motherboard. Moving onto a slightly older platform, the team took the FX8350 up to a staggering 8.47GHz on a 990FX-UD3.
Following the successful break of two records, AMDs VP of Sales, Michael Liao said, “This new record underlines just how much potential performance can be unleashed by our new Trinity platform, clearly demonstrating how GIGABYTE Ultra Durable motherboards help enthusiasts get the absolute maximum performance from their unlocked AMD APUs.”
Henry Kao, Vice President of the GIGAGYTE Motherboard Business Unit followed, “We are extremely excited with this OC result because the F2A85X-UP4 is the first motherboard from GIGABYTE to use our new Ultra Durable 5 technology – so the OC record is a testament to the high caliber of components that we use on our products. These results solidify GIGABYTE’s position as the go-to platform for AMD overclocking enthusiasts.”
