Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo 6990 VGA Cooler Review

From the top of both coolers you can see the Arctic cooler is clearly bigger. Which design you prefer is clearly a matter of personal preference, the Arctic cooler definitely gives off that “high-performance” aesthetic whilst the stock cooler looks much more simplistic and subtle.

What is quite unusual about the stock cooler, by stock cooler standards anyway, is that it does actually have memory and VRM cooling. In fact, with the blower style fan on the stock cooler directly over the VRM chips I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw better VRM temperatures on the stock cooler. The main difference that can be seen from this angle is the fact that the Arctic cooler boasts superior GPU cooling, with better fans and much denser heatsinks.

Once you have the new Arctic cooler installed into your case, this is typically the angle at which you’d see this cooler the most especially if you had a side window. Personally I prefer the AMD red/black design but its a sacrifice well worth making for the safety of your ears.
