Arctic Accelero Xtreme 7970 VGA Cooler Review

If 10 degrees off gaming load temperatures wasn’t enough to convince you in favour of the Accelero Xtreme 7970, then the acoustics paint an even better picture.

With a gaming load noise of just 44 dBA, the Arctic VGA cooler is quieter than the stock cooler at idle! In fact the stock cooler at load results in a peace-shattering 63dBA – that’s 19 dBA more than the Arctic solution, but by any standards the Arctic Accelero Xtreme 7970 is still whisper quiet thanks to the use of three PWM 92mm fans at low RPMs as opposed to the single blower style fan on the HD 7970 stock cooler.
