Arctic quickly gained a reputation for offering a wide range of dependable, quiet fans at extremely affordable prices. The company’s offerings usually allow customers to upgrade their stock chassis fans without the total cost being so expensive that the average user questions if it’s worth the investment. Recently, Arctic expanded their fan range to include the F14 series. As its name suggests, these fans are 140mm in size and employ a quiet fan curve. This is achieved by F14’s impeller and angled blade design. Of course, the standard F14 operates at a higher RPM range while the F14 Silent runs at significantly reduced speeds.
F14
As previously mentioned, the standard F14 utilises high-angled blades which enhance airflow and operate at respectable noise levels. Unfortunately, the press release doesn’t divulge any more information regarding the build.
F14 Silent
Specially optimised for silent systems, the F14 Silent is rated to an incredibly quiet 0.08 Sone. Also, an alloy/lubricant combination reduces friction while increasing the fan’s lifespan and ensuring the noise output remains low.
F14 PWM | F14 PWM PST | F14 PWM PST CO
The company’s new PWM controlled fans have a particularly sophisticated solution created by German engineers who were able to maximise performance This eliminates the fan noise during office work entirely and extends the service life of the fan significantly. Often motherboards don’t provide PWM signals below 40 % and thus make the fan unnecessary loud – not so with the F14 PWM, PWM PST and PWM PST CO.
