Arctic Confirms CPU Cooler Compatibility for AMD’s Upcoming AM5 Socket
Mike Sanders / 3 years ago
With the AMD Ryzen 7000 processors set to release around October this year, one of the biggest differences we’ll see when compared to prior generations is that this will be transitioning to a brand new AM5 socket. – With this in mind, therefore, this will clearly represent some issue in terms of existing CPU cooler compatibility.
Following an official announcement from Arctic, however, they have not just confirmed their upcoming AM5 compatibility list (perhaps a bit sooner than many might’ve expected), but it’s inclusive of ALL of their air and AIO cooling solutions that are currently designed to work with AM4. – Put simply, limited compatibility this is not!
Arctic Confirms AM5 Compatibility
As part of the announcement Arctic has said:
“ARCTIC is pleased to announce that all AM4-compatible ARCTIC coolers will also be compatible with AMD’s new AM5 socket. AMD is expected to release the next-generation AMD Ryzen 7000 desktop processors (Zen 4) at the end of 2022. Since all mechanical dimensions remain identical, we are able to guarantee compatibility with our coolers on AMD’s new processors. [This includes our] award-winning Liquid Freezer II series, the fan-favorite Freezer 34 eSports air cooler, and many more.”
Where Can I Learn More?
As noted above, if your current Arctic cooling solution is compatible with the existing AM4 socket, it’ll work with AM5 and that’s great news not just for these solutions, but more so that, all going well, pretty much widespread compatibility from all major manufacturers should also be confirmed in the coming months.. – If you do, therefore, want to see the full list of their cooling solutions set to work with Ryzen 7000, you can visit their official website via the link here!
