A Closer Look
The thermal paste comes in a standard looking syringe with the newly designed Arctic Cooling logo and MX-4 branding.
Turning the syringe around reveals the arctic.ac website address of which you can find out more details on the features and full spec list of the MX-4 paste.
Turning the syringe around a bit more reveals four circles that are cut out from the paper that seals around the tube. This gives an easy indication as to how much paste is left in the syringe before it’s all gone and run out.
The compound itself has been made with the same thermal properties as its earlier revisions (MX-2 and MX-3) but with easier applpication. Arctic have made the MX-4 paste easier to spread as the paste is less viscous. When looking at other pastes from the likes of Gelid Solutions and Noctua it’s very much a mixed bag.
The likes of Gelid Solutions ensure that you spread the paste with the applicator whereas Arctic insists on using the CPU cooler to spread the paste evenly in the hope of obtaining the best results.
