When it comes to VGA cooling there really aren’t many company’s left in the market as graphics card coolers are so good these days it’s not worth their time. Thankfully Arctic are still going strong, churning out innovative and high performance VGA coolers for the enthusiast market. Their latest product targets the extreme enthusiast with some deep pockets. If you’re one of those people lucky enough to have a GTX 690 then Arctic is offering you an alternative way to cool it.
As you may already know the GTX 690 came with a custom Nvidia designed cooler, which Nvidia told its partners was not allowed to be changed. In effect this meant that every GTX 690 you can buy, looks the same and performs the same. So if you want better cooling your only options up until now were to purchase a water cooling block – annoying if you don’t have water cooling.
Arctic’s Twin Turbo 690 makes the ideal option for the above problem. Their new air VGA cooler for the GTX 690 offers 14% lower temperatures and 92% lower noise output. The Twin Turbo 690 uses two connected heatsink arrangements, with 5 heat pipes each, cooled by a single fan each. They are dense and can handle thermal loads of 400W. The 120mm fans are PWM from 400 to 1500RPM. The Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo measures about 288 (L) x 138 (W) x 50 (H) mm, and weighs about 800g – it will keep your GTX 690 as a dual slot card.
The Twin Turbo 690 will be available from September the 10th for $169.95.
