Arctic launch the Accelero Xtreme 7970

The HD 7970 is now the fastest single GPU card on the planet and from the looks of things an overclockers dream. But for those on a realistic budget water cooling may not be an option so the next best thing is an efficient after market air cooler. Arctic are claiming up to 300W cooling capacity on a cooler which has three PWM 92mm fans fitted. The cooler design features 5 heatpipes and 84 fins for effective heat dissipation.

Interestingly enough the HD 7970 Xtreme is compatible with other AMD video cards such as the 5870, 6970, 6950, 5850 and the upcoming 7950, 7850 and 7870 cards.

The cooler like all arctic coolers come with pre-applied thermal paste on the main, VRM and memory heatsinks. Cards using the cooler will still be CrossFireX compatible. The new Accelero Xtreme 7970 after market cooler is made available on the 31st of January and it comes with an Impressive 6 year warranty.
