Arctic P402 Dynamic Supra-Aural Headset Review

Today I’ll be taking a look at the Arctic P402 headset, a cost effective set of headphones with a small in-line microphone for around £20. At this kind of price I’m not expecting this to be the greatest audio solution since the dawn of time, but Arctic do have a bit of a name for themselves within the PC community, so it would be good to see a reasonable amount of quality from them today.

You don’t really need me to tell you how important audio is in our lives, it plays a big part in our day to day use of computers and of course, in our entertainment needs. A good set speakers or headphones can really make or break your experience when it comes to gaming and music and it can be an expensive endeavour when you begin to seek perfection of either. Its for this reason that many people love a good bargain, a budget friendly, cheaper solution that ticks at least a few boxes in terms of quality, performance, comfort and style, although at around £20 there is much more flexibility in terms of our expectations.

“With powerful bass, the P402 brings you a new sense of excitement in music. The soft and comfortable ear pads provide complete noise isolation with lasting comfort. You will stay connected to your social network thanks to its in-line microphone which allows you to switch between your music and calls – you will never have to take them off.” – Artic.ac

The above quote from Arctic’s site sounds a little much IMO, with the claim of powerful bass and complete noise isolation, but I guess there is only one way to find out. So lets move on and take a closer look at what the P402 headphones have to offer.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
