Ark Survival Evolved Fans Unhappy After Remaster Announcement

The other day Studio Wildcard announced that they would be releasing a remastered Unreal Engine 5 version of ARK Survival Evolved titled ARK Survival Ascended and so far the community is not happy mostly due to the price.
ARK Survival Ascended Poorly Received
The ARK UE5 remaster was announced by Jeremy Stieglitz, Lead designer of ARK, to be a free upgrade for the game and in the recent community crunch Wildcard has had a complete U-Turn of this and has announced that the game will cost a full $49.99 and won’t include the DLCs and on top of that will be shutting down the official servers for the original game. Of course, the community isn’t happy about this and has taken to Steam reviews to vent their frustration and since the announcement the game has been hit with heavy negative reviews.
Fans are Understandably Angry
A company has to make money but to initially claim the upgrade would be free and then turn around on that and sell it at full price as well as shutting down the servers on the original is going to make fans angry. To make it even worse they aren’t even bundling the DLC in the remaster and are selling the two that they are going to resell both the explorer pass and genesis pass for a full $18.99 which is even funnier when you consider the fact that Wildcard released DLC whilst the game was still in Early Access.
I’ve played Ark Survival Evolved once and have friends who have played it a fair bit and even after early access ended it is a buggy mess of a game. DeathTempler on Twitter has summed up this whole remaster perfectly, “Give us $90 and we’ll try again.”
