Ark: Survival Evolved Heading to Microsoft’s Play Anywhere

ARK: Survival Evolved is already a fun game to play, but soon it seems that buying the game on either Xbox One or on PC will mean you own it on both, as Studio Wildcard become one of the first third-party developers to use Microsoft’s new Play Anywhere scheme.
There are a few games using Play Anywhere already, such as Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3, and only one non-Microsoft game, Everspace, so it’s great to see other developers coming onboard with the idea that those with multiple gaming systems only have to buy the game once.
“We’re working on it (on the side),” says Studio Wildcard co-founder, Jeremy “Drake” Stieglitz. “[It] requires reformatting ARK’s application handling to work with Universal Windows Platform. “Hard to predict exactly when it’ll be ready to release at the moment, but it’s looking like December!”
This is a great move, and hopefully the new plan with be backdated to anyone who is already playing the game ahead of the Play Anywhere launch.
