ASGARD BRAGI DDR4 3600MHz 16GB (8GBx2) Review

How Much Does It Cost?

This kit comes in at around £135 or $165 on AliExpress. This isn’t quite as cheap as other kits on the market but still seems reasonable compared to the prices of DDR5, this is of course going to change in the future as DDR5 becomes more widely adopted and available.

Overview

Performance on this is what I would quite confidently call good. No, it didn’t get the very best results in all our tests and yes, it fell to the bottom a couple of times, but overall the performance of the kit was perfectly acceptable. If you are looking to overclock this memory then I have to steer you in another direction, but for pure performance, this isn’t half bad.

For the same price or a little better, you could get some of the better performing kits, But what you may be missing by doing that I the fantastic build quality and actually pretty sleek looking unique piano design. This memory feels incredibly well built, feeling quality in all physical aspects of it, to top that off, the RGB diffusion works very well and gives the light bar a very uniform look. Being a lover of RGB and seeing how good of a job Asgard managed to do here means I have to air my big gripe though, the design choice to have the black piano key design creates a very interesting look, yes, but I would have prefered if they had made it all RGB and not had the black part, or maybe have it be removable in some way, possibly magnets. That gripe is entirely personal preference, I will admit, but that doesn’t keep me from being a little disappointed.

Should I Buy One?

As I previously said, if you want to overclock then you should avoid this kit and find something else. If you are deciding between DDR4 and 5 then I would recommend you take a look at our review for the Sabrent Rocket DDR5 memory we did, that memory is a true overclockers dream.

But let’s say you are sold on DDR4 and want to know what kit to buy. If you care about nothing other than performance then this will not be the kit for you, but if you also want style and don’t mind paying for it then this is a very unique kit of memory, for some of you this may be your dream memory, and if that’s the case then I don’t blame you, the mirror finish will provide a type of look that nothing else quite has.

if nothing but looks is what you care about then i ask you, does this look right for your build? if it’s a yes then go for it, get this kit. If nothing but performance is what yopu want, then No, I can’t recomend this to you.

But the last thing to consider is performance and look combined with price, does it feel worth the money? With how high quality the kit feels and how good it looks, we are already in the realm of worth the money when it comes to style. If we then add the consideration of performance then we are looking at a kit that performs in the mid to high end of everything else we looked at. So putting these considerations together, I think I can confidently recommend this kit to you.
