A Closer Look

Now you understand why the cleaning cloth and gloves are necessary for hit’s kit, the finish of on most of the memory is a very reflective mirror. Photographing this proved difficult because I had to do my best to make sure I wasn’t focusing on what was being reflected.

With that being said, the front side of the memory features the mirror like finish and a nice looking light bar.

The back of the memory looks very similar but has a large black section that is for creating the piano inspired design of the memory kit.

From the top, we can see more of the light bar and the piano design; being the God of music, I can see why they chose to name this piano inspired kit after Bragi.

When we remove the heat spreader from the memory, we can see that these sticks feature a single sided eight chip design, with each of those chips contributing 1GB of the total memory capacity of the stick.

After much research and struggle trying to figure out what the scratched off letters are, I have learnt that’s these are Samsung chips with the part number of K4A8G085WC-BCPB, those last two letter proving to be the most difficult. With Samsung as the chip provider here, I would expect the Bragi to have very good reliability and longevity.

On the back of the bare DIMM we can see nothing other than the RGB LEDs, eight in total spread across the top of the stick.

Speaking of RGB, for the purposes of showing it off to you, we used four sticks instead of the two that come in the kit and that we tested. The RGB is very nice looking, if only spoiled a little by the solid black bar that breaks the light up in an uneven way.
