Power Consumption and Temperatures
Power Consumption
To measure power consumption we, use a “killawatt” meter and measure the total system power draw at the wall. We run three different use-case scenarios for 5 minutes and take the average reading.
Here is where the N3700 option makes the most sense. It has a seriously low power demand and can happily stream and playback 1080p video with minimal power consumption. The Eco mode really dropped the power demand here, but still was able to playback 1080p video.
Temperatures
To measure the temperatures, HWmonitor will be used. The idle temperature will be recorded from the average core temperature and load temperature will be measured after 2 minutes of Cinebench and Unigine Heaven running together.
The temperatures are well within safe limits, despite looking horribly high. The temperature didn’t really move much past 64°c, but as I recorded the temperature it just hit 65°c.
