With the 200 series chipset and Kaby Lake out now, ASRock and other Intel motherboard partners are finally free to showcase their new boards. Kicking off the 200 series, ASRock is introducing 21 new boards right out of the gate with more to follow for sure. The focus, of course, is on the flagship and a few select boards at the upper end but ASRock is really covering the whole field with this launch.
This time around, we have the new Z270 SuperCarrier as the flagship. True to its name, the design comes with a warship theme design with the classic battleship gray with black highlights. The board features PCI-E Steel Slots provide ultimate graphics with 4-Way SLI and 4-Way CrossFireX, plus full NVIDIA Quadro SLI support. These Steel Slots feature full coverings for the PCIe slot to ensure that there is no signal interference. We also get 2 x Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Type C ports for external connectivity. Network connections are offered by the AQUANTIA 5 Gigabit Ethernet with dual LAN and 802.11ac WiFi.
Moving on, we have the mainstream Z270 Taichi which really splurges on the storage with three PCIe Gen 3 x4 / SATA3 Ultra M.2 slots. It also features dual LAN and the Realtek ALC1220 audio codec. Next up, we have the Fatal1ty Z270 Professional Gaming i7 from the Fatal1ty lineup. This board features a more gaming oriented theme with AQUANTIA 5Gb/s LAN. Both boards also feature the new standard AURA RGB LED, PCIe Steel Slots and Optane Memory support.
For those of you looking for different options, ASRock also has the Z270 Killer SLI/ac, the classic Z270 Extreme 4 and the more budget friendly Z270 Pro4. Be sure to check out the rest of the lineup at ASRock’s page here.
