ASRock is aiming to reach a milestone that only Gigabyte and ASUS have ever reached. The 10 million motherboards in a single year landmark. With shipments totalling around 1.9 million for Q4 of this year ASRock will reach a yearly total of 7.8 million motherboards for the year 2011 – a very impressive number. But, ASRock is around 13.3% short of its 9 million goal for 2011 so internally these are disappointing figures.
However, in terms of brand reputation and recognition ASRock has made huge inroads in 2011 by continuing to push its motherboards particularly those on the LGA 1155 socket. In 2012 we expect more of the same from ASRock, they have the launch of Ivy Bridge and Cedar trail to help speed things along. According to sources ASRock’s revenue is 90% from motherboards and 10% from HTPCs so you can almost certainly assume there will be large undivided focus on Intel’s Ivy Bridge launch later on in May 2012.
