X399 Threadripper boards are coming out of the woodwork thick and fast. Of course, ASRock has joined this again with their latest offering. The X399 Fatal1ty Professional Gaming Motherboard. The Fatal1ty Professional Gaming board also has a party piece in the form of a 10Gb/s ethernet connection and an 11 phase power design.
With four reinforced PCIe slots to utilise the Threadripper extended PCIe support, as well as plentiful storage options. There are 8 SATA3 ports and three M.2 Slots for ultra high-speed data transfer. Of course, being a gaming board the Audio is a priority. Audio comes in the form of a 7.1 channel integrated audio chipset.
ASRock also opted for high-performance networking too. The inclusion of a 10Gb/s Ethernet connection is most certainly going to be a welcome addition. Usually, you would need to add an external PCIe card to get transfer speeds similar to this. The built in high-speed ethernet connection will allow for all four PCIe lanes for multiple graphics cards.
ASRock will launch two X399 motherboards, the Fatal1ty Professional Gaming and the Taichi at the same time. Of course, Both boards are very similar and have almost identical feature lists. However, the Taichi will not offer the 10Gb/s Ethernet connectivity of the Fatal1ty Professional Gaming boards. Will the high-speed networking capabilities be enough to convince you to buy?
