ASRock has developed the world’s first Mini Socket Technology Extended (Mini-STX) motherboard based on an Intel H110 chipset. Mini-STX boards are even smaller than the familiar Mini-ITX, while still squeezing in space for a CPU fan and dual channel DDR4 RAM, and ASRock’s new offering is the first of its kind to support Intel’s H110 Skylake chipset.
The H110M-STX sports Intel’s 5×5 form factor through a PCIe x4 Gen 3.0 M.2 port, supports M.2 SSDs, and features three USB 3.0 ports (two Type-A ports and one Type-C port). The H110M-STX is energy-smart, powered by 19V DC adapters, which reduces power consumption.

The price and release date for the ASRock H110M-STX are yet to be announced, but ASRock has promised that “chassis makers such as Silverstone and AKASA will be launching their Mini-STX solutions soon.”
