ASRock X299 Taichi XE Motherboard Review

Synthetic Benchmarks
While I expected this motherboard to be fast, it’s more about the broader feature set an ecosystem that it is about benchmarking. Shocking to some gamers I know, but there’s more beyond high FPS. Scoring a strong 21544 in 3DMark is a pretty decent score for X299, as is 5551 in Unigine, and 5920 in PCMark 10. They’re not the fastest, not the slowest scores we’ve seen. However, once overclocked those score moved up to 22385 in 3DMark which is pretty fast for X299. Of course, it’s in tasks like WPrime, CineBench and Handbrake that a motherboard like this excels. WPrime clocked in at just 69s once overclocked, CineBench was 2485, and 78.8 FPS while converting 4K video in Handbrake.
