ASRock X399 Taichi Layout Diagram
With the upcoming launch of X399 from AMD, leaks are coming from all over the place. The latest is a layout diagram of the X399 Taichi from ASRock. It tells us quite a bit about what we can expect from the upcoming Threadripper motherboard, and at this point, the hype is real. We can see there are four PCIe lanes, dual LAN controllers, there’s a BIOS reset in the top left, Debug LED, plentiful storage options, and more!
X399?
X399 is the latest chipset and socket from AMD. It builds on their AM4 platform technology and scales it up in a big way for AMD’s take on the Intel HEDT processors, such as X299. This is prosumer and enthusiast workstation and extreme gaming hardware. If you’re doing a lot of rendering, extreme gaming and so much more, these huge CPUs and their massive core counts are going to be real power houses.
probably the weirdest part of this diagram is the supposed typo showing Intel X399 someone must have got a little carried away with the odd naming structure

The board layout above tells us quite a bit, but what about this lovely image of the board its self? It sure is stunning with that lovely gear-laden design! The board is a full-ATX design but almost looks spartan in terms of features. There are four full-size PCIe slots, and with 64 PCIe lanes on Threadripper, that means full speed for all your GPUs or storage devices. That’s a big deal, given that PCIe lanes have been restrictive of some new NVMe drives and quad-GPU configurations.
Price and Release Date
Unfortunately, we don’t have anything we can confirm. We expect it will be within the next few weeks. Although, that’s only by judging the rate the leaks we are seeing. However, until it’s on the retail shelves or in our hands, all that can change.
