ASRock X79 Extreme4 X79 Motherboard Review

This is the first ASRock board that we’ve looked at, and due to that it’s our first experience with their UEFI BIOS, and from the offset, it looks simple and effective, though sometimes it did cause some problems with initially getting into the BIOS. The main menu gives you a brief run-down of the main components including CPU and memory.

The OC Tweaker typically includes what we expect in regards to overclocking controls including the ability to load the CPU EZ OC settings or manually set the options yourself.

We can also tweak the memory options and this board fully supports XMP 1.3 based memory modules.

A nice feature of the BIOS is the ability to check out what components are installed into your system. As we’re show, we have four modules, a CPU and a PCI-Express x16 expansion card.

A lot more various screens are also available with the option to alter different memory, processor and general settings.
