Overclocking
The particular Intel Core i7 4770K chip we used to review the trio of motherboards in the graph below is only capable of 4.8GHz. Any higher and the required voltage causes it to overheat even with a Corsair H100i running in performance mode. The ASRock Z87 Extreme 6 easily managed to reach 4.8GHz with a relatively low voltage of 1.29 volts. Certainly this shows how capable the motherboard is and bare in mind that most Core i7 4770k processors will struggle to make it past 4.5/4.6GHz anyway. With Haswell the motherboard is very rarely your limiting factor, the quality of your processor is, and with the case of the Extreme 6 from ASRock it certainly doesn’t limit your overclocks in any way.
