ASRock Z87M Extreme4 (LGA 1150) Motherboard Review

Overclocking

The particular Intel Core i7 4770K chip we used to review the trio of motherboards in the graph below is only capable of 4.8GHz. Any higher and the required voltage causes it to overheat even with a Corsair H100i running in performance mode.  The ASRock Z87M Extreme4 was more than capable of hitting that target with 1.29 volts. Of course results will vary depending on your CPU but what these results show is that you won’t be limited by the ASRock Z87M Extreme4, only your chip will hold you back.
