I must admit that I’m not the biggest Ubisoft fan, as they’ve burned me too many times with lousy games. Admittedly, in the last few years, they’ve been on a bit of a redemption kick, putting out better quality products than they used to. However, there’s one thing Ubisoft does seemingly better than any other developer/publisher. System requirements! They’ve just revealed plenty of details for their upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, detailing the hardware requirements for PC gamers, but also the resolutions and target frame rates for those configurations… why all studios do not do this (other than the fact their games may be running like dog ****) is beyond me.
They’ve partnered with Intel on this one, so optimisations for their CPUs and Arc GPUs are a given, but honestly, the GPU and CPU requirements don’t look all that hardcore for a AAA release, and I suspect most AMD and Nvidia users of recent years will be getting along just fine here. From a humble A380, GTX 1060 or an RX 570 the game will play at 1080p low preset at 30FPS, give or take.
Of course, if you want to play with Ultra settings at 4K and 60 FPS, then the RTX 3080, and RX 6900 XT are more your speed, amusing to me that there’s no Intel option that far up, reminding me once again how slow Intel are on the uptake in the GPU market. This means that if you have an even newer GPU, such as the RTX 4080/4090, or an RX 7800, you should be able to enjoy ultrawide and 4K are 60 FPS and above on high-refresh
